Arcade Fire makes you dance with its new interactive video

The Montreal cult group released a double version of their song “Sprawl II (Mountains beyond Mountains)” on Friday. On the one hand, the normal clip and on the other hand an interactive version of the project that you just have to activate with your webcam. Dance now!

Both versions are signed by Vincent Morisset. First, the normal version of the video clip illustrating “Sprawl II”, a song from the album ‘The Suburbs” released in 2010. Régine Chassagne, mischievous, dances with headphones on in different environments, urban or bucolic, and the other members of the group appear with their faces covered with a papier mâché mask.

And here is the interactive version posted on the Arcade Fire website, it works with your webcam. The images move at your own pace. So you can dance with your head or hands. If you don’t have an integrated webcam, it also works with the mouse. But it’s less spectacular.

Arcade Fire, costumer of interactive videos
Arcade Fire has accustomed its fans to pushing the limits of digital innovation even further. For their second album “Neon Bible” (2007), an interactive clip allowed the Internet user to bring the character to life, and in particular his hands, activating or modifying his gestures.

For their third album, “The Suburbs”, in August 2010, the Butler brothers band launched an even more spectacular project realized by Chris Milk in partnership with Google Maps. “The Wilderness Downtown” allowed the Internet user, invited to give his birth address, to view images of the environment in which he had grown up. A striking experience.
